From England to Mongolia with a Comvita First Aid Kit

From England to Mongolia with a Comvita First Aid Kit

On Sunday July 19th,Team Karma Kar made their way too Goodwood Racetrack in England to commence an adventure of a lifetime. The Mongol Rally will see the team travel through roughly 25 countries on their way to the Mongolia and finally into the heartland of Siberia where the finish line is situated. All of this will be attempted in a 1990 900cc Fiat Panda.

Brothers Mark and James Lovelock and their friend Thomas Cuming signed up for the rally in September last year for the 17,000km transcontinental drive from the United Kingdom to Ulan Ude, Russia.

The rally has only three rules: drivers must take a farcically small vehicle, the engine must be smaller than one litre or 1000cc; there is no outside support; and each competing team would raise funds for the official charity of the Mongol Rally, Cool Earth, which works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction, and a charity of the choosing which is The Arohanui Hospice.

The three team members are putting the next couple of months on hold to chase adventure and slice off a big chunk of Nature. Team Karma Kar, as they have christened themselves, hope building up enough good karma and carrying a stack of lucky charms on the dashboard would propel them East.

They have set aside two months to complete the rally. The quickest team ever to finish took just 14 days, and the slowest team took two years. On average only 50 to 70 per cent of teams make it to the finish line. The team plan to leave England by ferry, landing in Calais, France. They will then travel across Europe aiming to land somewhere in the Balkans and pick up the Silk Road from Istanbul. After they drive across Turkey they will travel to Azerbaijan and catch a ferry across the Caspian Sea. After disembarking in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, it should be plane sailing for the final 8000km jaunt through Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, The Altai Mountain Range, Mongolia and Siberia.

Comvita is with them all the way! Our mission is to help team Karma Kar get from London to Mongol in the best of health - by providing them with a first aid kit of Comvita products. The boys will be posting and tweeting about how their Comvita products assist them in their vibrant life journey whilst sharing nature and life moments along the way!
